ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHIES

Attorney Iris M. Christenson is an Estate Planning and Elder Law attorney who believes that “hoping for the best” in estate planning and business planning can lead to unintended consequences. She prefers to empower individuals, families, small businesses, and nonprofits to attain and maintain financial security while creating a positive legacy. Prior to graduating cum laude from the UW-Madison Law School in 1990, Iris was an occupational therapist. She worked with elderly and disabled individuals in nursing homes, and it’s no surprise that she would move from one compassionate profession to another to help people achieve a secure future and peace of mind. She is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the State Bar Elder Law Section, and volunteers for many local nonprofit organizations. She is president of the board of directors for Family Connections of Wisconsin, Inc., a program that assists children whose parent is incarcerated.  Iris has over 16 years of experience in the areas of estate planning, disability planning, probate, guardianship and other areas that relate to financial security.

Attorney Johanna J. Allex focuses on estate planning, small businesses planning, and nonprofits.  She helps individuals, families, and small businesses to attain financial security and create a positive legacy for themselves and their communities.  The ability to help people create the future they have in mind motivates Johanna.  She feels that something as important as your legacy should not be left to chance.  She received her B.S., M.M. and J.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to becoming an attorney and CPA, Johanna taught music, an interactive profession that shaped the approach she uses to help people understand their options and to assure them of the legacy they want.  Johanna is secretary of the board of directors for Natural Heritage Land Trust, Inc., a local land trust that conserves land in South Central Wisconsin.  She is a member of the American Bar Association (Real Property and Probate sections), the Wisconsin State Bar, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Planned Giving Council.
